I know that feeling of disappointment when, as an online consumer, I buy something that’s damaged in transit. The one thing I have learned is that some online companies offer brilliant customer service. Amazon. Apple. Google. They all know how to treat their customers. Maryla - Surf Lifestyle is a much smaller business, but I will do my utmost to ensure you have the best customer experience.
I understand there may be times when something you have bought from Maryla needs to be returned. My Returns Policy is in addition to other rights you have under Australian Consumer Law. You can read all your rights under Australian law here, if you like. I am based in Australia, so these are the consumer laws I will follow.
This page also includes common questions you may have about payment methods, pricing and shipping. I’ve tried my best to explain everything in plain English. If you have any other questions, please send me an email at email@example.com.
Paying online with PayPal (it’s free for customers).
I love my secure PayPal payment method because:
- My customers don’t need a PayPal account and it’s FREE for them. No extra charges.
- My customers can use their credit cards. (Visa, Mastercard)
- It works on smart phones like the iPhone or a Samsung Android phone.
- It’s secure and trusted.

Payment and Shipping.
Orders will be sent once your payment has been confirmed, generally within 2-14 days if the ordered product is in stock. Occasionally, a listed item may be unavailable due to unforeseen demand - it hasn’t happened yet - but I am committing to contact you within 48 hours to offer you a refund or a suitable alternative.
Australian orders: All Australian orders are shipped using Australia Post or Fastway Couriers.The shipping charges will be calculated at checkout. Delivery time is usually within 3 working days from dispatch within Australia.
For International orders, contact me for estimates.
Delivery times: Please note, I cannot guarantee delivery times. If your order does not arrive within a reasonable time please contact me by phone or email.
Large items: For larger items, such as an artwork, sent with Fastway Couriers, I will contact you personally to determine the time and place of delivery. You can appreciate this is important information for a courier. Otherwise there may be a surcharge for redelivery. I can also arrange for your goods to be delivered and left in a safe place, but it will be at the customer’s risk for obvious reasons. Together, we will get it right.
All prices are in Australian dollars and do not include the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10 percent. Online prices may change without notice and may differ from prices available elsewhere. Maryla’s designer goods are also stocked in selected retail stores.
Further duties, taxes or charges that may be levied on the package on arrival in your country (or any other fees or charges you may incur in relation to a foreign transaction) are your responsibility. Please contact your local customs or other relevant authorities directly for the latest advice. To comply with Australian export regulations, the exact value of all items ordered will be declared and marked as dutiable merchandise.
All cushions shown include the insert or filling and this is included in the cost. Cushions can be ordered without the insert by arrangement.
Care and maintenance
Colour is a tricky business when buying online. Every effort has been taken to accurately show the colour of my products, but the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor and/or printer. There is no guarantee that the display of any colour will exactly reflect the colour of the product on delivery.
Please note also that some products are manufactured and printed by hand or utilising traditional
production methods. Irregularities in materials, fabrics or prints are characteristic of the
manufacturing process, and are an integral part of the design. As such, there may be slight
markings or variations in appearance (including in colour or finishing) which are technically
unavoidable and/or intentional.
Goods may be shipped to you with care and maintenance instructions, in which case it is
imperative you follow these instructions for the ongoing quality of your product. Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds, replacement or free repair for goods damaged by misuse, including by failure to follow care and maintenance instructions.
Refunds, returns and exchanges
Maryla - Surf LIfestyle complies with all legal obligations concerning warranties and other consumer guarantee rights. I’ve reproduced the mandatory statement under Australian Consumer Law here, although you will agree it’s pretty wooden for plain English!
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
All items are thoroughly checked before sending and packaged with care. However, in the
unlikely event that you receive an item that is faulty or damaged, please contact me by phone or
email to arrange a refund or replacement. Items will not be refunded after 5 working days upon receipt. Maryla - Surf Lifestyle is not responsible for lost or damaged post/ shipments.
Please note that custom-made orders cannot be returned or refunded.
Privacy and security
We do not receive your credit card details for payments made through PayPal. We will not
disclose or use for any secondary purpose personal information that you provide to us including
your name, address, telephone number and email address.
